Light-weight Ontology Versioning with Multi-temporal RDF Schema

چکیده

In this paper, we present a multi-temporal RDF data model, which can be used to support RDF(S) light-weight ontology versioning. The data model is equipped with ontology change operations, which are defined in terms of low-level updates acting on RDF triples. As a result, the operational semantics of a complete set of primitive ontology changes has been formalized, taking care of preservation of class/property hierarchies and typing constraints. When used within the transaction template, which has also been introduced, the proposed ontology changes allow knowledge engineers or maintainers of semantics-based Web resources to easily define and manage temporal versions of an RDF(S) ontology. Keywords-ontology; versioning; temporal data; RDF(S).

Multi-temporal RDF Ontology Versioning

In this paper, we present a multi-temporal RDF database model employing triple timestamping with temporal elements, which best preserves in the multi-temporal setting the scalability property enjoyed by triple storage technologies. The data model is equipped with manipulation operations which allow knowledge engineers to maintain a multi-temporal RDF database in order to manage temporal version...

Semversion: an Rdf-based Ontology Versioning System

Knowledge domains and their formal representations via ontologies are typically subject to change in practical applications. Additionally, engineering of ontologies often takes place in distributed settings where multiple independent users interact. Therefore, change management for ontologies becomes a crucial aspect for any kind of ontology management environment. This paper introduces a new R...

The State of the Art: Ontology Web-Based Languages: XML Based

Many formal languages have been proposed to express or represent Ontologies, including RDF, RDFS, DAML+OIL and OWL. Most of these languages are based on XML syntax, but with various terminologies and expressiveness. Therefore, choosing a language for building an Ontology is the main step. The main point of choosing language to represent Ontology is based mainly on what the Ontology will represe...

τOWL: A Framework for Managing Temporal Semantic Web Documents Supporting Temporal Schema Versioning

The OWL 2 Web Ontology Language allows defining both schema and instances of ontologies for Semantic Web applications, but lacks explicit support for time-varying ontologies. Hence, knowledge engineers or maintainers of Semantic Web documents have to use ad hoc techniques in order to specify an OWL 2 schema for time-varying instances and to cope with its temporal evolution. In this paper, for a...
